AC out in Naples? Start here
Warm air, no air or a system that won't start? Make five quick checks, then call. A real person answers and tells you honestly when a licensed technician can be there.

Check these five things first
Thermostat
Is it set to Cool, below room temperature, with a working display? A blank screen often means dead batteries or a tripped float switch. See thermostat problems.
Air filter
A clogged filter can choke airflow until the coil freezes. If it's dark and matted, replace it.
Breakers and disconnect
Check the AC and air handler breakers and the outdoor disconnect. Reset a tripped breaker once. If it trips again, leave it off.
Condensate drain
Water in the drain pan or a float switch on the drain line can shut the system off to protect your ceiling. See AC leaking water.
Ice
Ice on the copper lines or indoor coil? Turn cooling off and run the fan only to thaw it. See frozen AC coil.
When to call right away
- Indoor temperature is climbing and someone in the home is elderly, very young, pregnant or medically vulnerable
- A breaker trips again after one reset
- Burning, electrical or hot-metal smell
- Water coming through a ceiling or overflowing the drain pan
- The outdoor unit hums but the fan doesn't spin
- The system was under water in a storm
If anyone shows signs of heat illness, move them somewhere cool and call 911. A repair can wait; a person can't.
How we handle an urgent no-cooling call
A person answers. We ask what the system is doing, how hot it is inside and who is at home. We then tell you honestly when a licensed technician can be there. We won't promise a time we can't meet, and we only describe service as same-day or after-hours when a technician is actually available to come.
When the technician arrives, the job is to find the fault and get you cooling safely. You get a written estimate for the repair before any work is done, as with every Uniform job.
Keep the house cooler while you wait
- Close blinds and curtains on sunny sides of the house
- Avoid the oven, dryer and dishwasher heat-dry
- Use ceiling fans to keep air moving across people
- Keep doors to unused rooms closed
- Drink water and spend time in the coolest room
Frequently asked questions
Are you open 24 hours?
Call (408) 320-5050 any time. We'll tell you exactly when a technician can arrive. We don't advertise round-the-clock dispatch unless a technician is actually available to come.
Do urgent calls cost more?
Visits outside normal hours can cost more. We'll tell you before we send anyone, and the repair itself is still quoted in writing first.
Should I keep resetting the breaker?
No. Reset it once. A breaker that trips again is protecting the wiring or a failing component, and repeated resets can cause damage.
Can I add refrigerant myself?
No. Refrigerant handling requires EPA certification, and low refrigerant means there's a leak that needs to be found. A top-off without a leak search usually just postpones the next breakdown.
Still no cooling? Call now.
Tell us what you've checked. We'll give you an honest arrival time for a licensed, background-checked technician.
